In partnership with Silicon Valley Clean Energy, RHA created guides to support building officials, contractors and consumers with key issues affecting the installation of efficient electric technology for clean, safe and more resilient communities. The Best Practices Guide for Siting Mechanical Equipment offers cities research-backed solutions for updating municipal codes impacting siting locations for mechanical equipment, such as condensing units for air conditioners and heat pumps. The Service Optimization Guides for Building Officials and Contractors provides actionable information to minimize unnecessary electrical service upgrades while ensuring public safety and code compliance in retrofit projects. RHA also developed an Informational Sheet for Consumers to help them understand their electrical service panel options when electrifying their homes.
