Multifamily properties represent almost 30% of residential energy consumption across SoCalGas’s service territory, representing a substantial opportunity for energy reduction.  However, self-initiated energy efficiency projects can be time consuming and expensive for property owners. Beyond that, property owners may not always be aware of the importance or benefits of energy efficiency, or of the program available to support energy efficiency.

Recognizing this, SoCalGas enlisted RHA to design and implement a program to provide multifamily property owners, managers and residents solutions to help reduce energy usage and costs. The program offers customized no-cost energy audits, property-specific energy reports, and incentive reservations for qualifying whole-building retrofits. RHA oversees all implementation activities including property owner and manager engagement, technical assistance and project management support, contractor coordination, and cross program referrals.
