To help address the economic, health and environmental burdens disproportionately impacting California’s disadvantaged communities, the CPUC and PG&E partnered with RHA to launch the San Joaquin Valley Disadvantaged Communities Pilot Projects. These programs provided no-cost, cleaner, more efficient appliances to customers living in eight San Joaquin Valley disadvantaged communities, many of whom were relying on propane or wood for cooking and heating. The programs also gathered real-time data to assess the feasibility of extending electrification options to all San Joaquin Valley disadvantaged communities.

RHA implemented the pilot programs, providing program and contractor management and facilitating program administration, as needed.
