To prevent wildfires, utility companies like SDG&E may turn off power in specific areas when certain weather conditions exist, resulting in outages for customers residing in the area. To mitigate the disruptive impacts to customers, SDG&E is launching the Customer Resiliency Solutions test initiative.
The initiative aims to install permanent batteries for qualifying CARE-enrolled low-income customers residing in a High Fire Threat District in San Diego County. RHA will provide program management and project support, overseeing site assessments and installation, and offering customer support services. The test initiative aims to install 50 batteries by March 31, 2025.
Up to 450 San Diego County residents contracted to determine eligibility
Site assessments conducted and PSPS preparedness tools delivered for customers
Homes to receive permanent battery installations
